After finishing my career — and yes, I'm calling it that instead of retirement because retirement sounds like I'm done, and honey, I am just getting started — I made the move I'd been dreaming about for years. I came to Texas.
And Texas? Texas felt like coming home.
There's something about this place that's hard to put into words. The people are warm in a way that's real, not just polite. The pace of life has this graceful quality to it — unhurried, grounded, full. For the first time in a long time, I felt peace. Not the kind you have to chase. The kind that just settles in.
There wasn't one single moment that sparked Texas Pour Girl. It was many. A sunset over the Hill Country. A conversation with a stranger who felt like an old friend by the end of the first glass. The laughter that happens when the right women get around a tasting table together.
When I started working at a winery, something clicked. I got to meet the most incredible people — the staff who became like family, and every single guest who walked through that door. People come to a winery looking for a good pour, but what they find is connection. That's what wine does. That's what Texas does.
Texas Pour Girl was born from all of that.
